Virginia Elizabeth Shiflett

Virginia Elizabeth Shiflett entered into the arms of Jesus on April 10, 2017. She was born June 13, 1926 to the late Lemuel and Beadie Shiflett from Mount Fair. Her husband Hobart Shiflett and an infant daughter preceeded her in death…Her two brothers Lemuel (Jack) and Melvin Shiflett and four sisters, Mary Mundy Shiflett, Lela Garrison, Lottie Wingfield and Della Garrison, also preceeded her in death. She is survived by her sister, Shirley Staton of Charlottesville; devoted friends Sandra Shumate, Mary Morris and Eileen Lavis; and a special sister-in-law Mary Vernon that she loved very much. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Virginia was a member of Browns Cove United Methodist Church. She was a faithful member and worker in the church. She loved singing. She was always friendly and loved everyone she met. A funeral service will be conducted 10 a.m. Friday, April 14, 2017 at the Teague Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Prize Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Teague Funeral Home.
