Sherry had a large community of people that she loved and that loved her. Her home and her heart were open to all and she treated each person as a member of the family. Nothing could sway Sherry from taking care of the ones that she loved, whether it be tough love or caring love she always knew the right thing to do. Many grew up calling her “Momma Sherry” and will always remember the ways that she touched their lives. She considered her children’s friends as her own. Sherry loved holidays, birthdays, family reunions and cookouts. She enjoyed anytime her children and grandchildren were together. She also enjoyed travelling with her family as well as being in the comfort of her own home with her beloved pets.
She worked for 49 years at the UVA Medical School in the OB/GYN department and always instilled the value of hard work in her children. She met many of her lasting friends at work and they made each other’s lives rich with love and laughter.
A memorial service will be held on November 17, 2022 at 1pm at Teague Funeral Home in Charlottesville, Va.
A memorial contribution in Sherry’s honor can be made to our local SPCA as caring for pets was one of her many loves.
