Sharon was born on December 12, 1943 in Proctor, Minnesota to Joseph Herman and Lois Pearl Ketchum Harper. She received her radiologic technologist certification from St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth Minnesota in 1963. She graduated from Mary Baldwin College with a B.A. degree in Management in 1989. She retired from a career as a successful x-ray technician at the University of Virginia in 2004, providing over 20 years of service to her patients. Instead of settling into a quiet retirement, Sharon became a franchise owner of Edible Arrangements in Charlottesville, eventually expanding to Richmond and Harrisonburg. Throughout her life, she inspired those around her with her positivity and go-getter attitude towards life. She doted on her family: her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. In her free time, Sharon enjoyed genealogy and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).
In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Lee Wells; siblings, Edward Harper, Lucille McKnitt, Ketchum Harper, and Joseph “Jerry” Harper; and stepson Charles Wells.
Sharon is survived by her daughters Cheryl Baugher and her husband Frederick, and Jodi Wells and Jon Linko, and her stepdaughters Gwen Brock and her husband Veston, and Sonja Mundy and her husband Frank. Sharon was the proud grandmother to 11 grandchildren and great-grandmother to 16 great-grandchildren.
Please join the family in remembrance of Sharon Wells on Monday, August 27, 2018, from 6-8pm, at Teague Funeral Service in Charlottesville. A graveside service will be held Tuesday August 28th at 11am at Holly Memorial Garden.
