Sara Jo Hall

Sara, a native of Charlottesville, Virginia, was born on February 19, 1969 to the late George (Elwood) Hall and Kathryn (Rittenhouse) Hall. Sara was a graduate of Bridgewater College and Blue Ridge Community College. Sara dedicated her life to serving others as a police officer and investigator for the town of Culpeper, a champion for women and children at Services to Abused Families in Culpeper, a housing counselor at Skyline Community Action Partnership in Madison, and most recently as Drug Court Case Manager and Probation Officer, and Reentry Case Manager with Offender Aid and Restoration in Charlottesville. Sara loved animals, and, early in her career, worked as a Veterinary Technician. Recently she volunteered at For the Cats’ Sake, in Flint Hill, cuddling needy kittens. Sara loved spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, Sara was preceded in death by her brother, Stephen Hall, brother-in-law, Buzz Curry, and nephew, Charlie Curry. Sara is survived by her sister, Janet Curry of Orange, her brother, George Hall and partner Mary Lou Malesiewski of Charlotte, NC, and her sister, Susan Satterfield and husband Dwayne of Orange, a sister-in-law Terry Hall of Palmyra, a loving niece, numerous nephews, and countless friends. She also leaves her beloved cats, Eli and Gabby.

A visitation for Sara will be held Saturday, July 8, 2023 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Charlottesville Church of the Brethren, 1225 Rio Rd E, Charlottesville, VA 22901. A funeral service will occur Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 1:00 PM, 1225 Rio Rd E, Charlottesville, VA 22901. An interment will occur at Holly Memorial Gardens, 3251 Seminole Trail, Charlottesville, Virginia 22911.
