Born on June 22, 1953, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Bertram Joseph and Bessie Louise Lundy Stanton.
Tricia devoted her life to the children in the Charlottesville School District, most recently teaching French and Latin at Charlottesville High School where she was chairman of the World Languages Department. She is remembered fondly by staff and students as being an extremely organized and selfless teacher who went beyond the classroom sponsoring the CHS Latin Club and the Latin Honor Society, arranging student trips to Europe, administering the SAT and ACT testing programs, traveling with the CHS Orchestra, and much more. She was the sponsor for the CHS Class of 2016, which included winning the Homecoming hall decoration contest four years in a row, coordinating the Powderpuff football game, fundraising for the class, arranging the Prom, among many other things.
Tricia is survived by her siblings Michael, Sharon, Bert, Tim, Jim, Barbara, Susan, Chris, and Julie; as well as her beloved cat, Marcus Aurelius.
Her family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at both Martha Jefferson Hospital and Hospice of the Piedmont for the tender care they showed her.
The family will receive friends Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Teague Funeral Home.
