Mary Elizabeth Shifflett

Mary Elizabeth Walker Shifflett, 93, of Crozet, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, October 11, 2016. Born May 7, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Charles Benjamin and Ethel Gibson Walker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hiram Shifflett; a son, Douglas E. Shifflett; seven brothers; and three sisters. Mary is survived by two daughters, Linda Price and Rosa Thomlinson; two sons, Hiram Shifflett and Donald Shifflett; two sisters, Marie Johnson and Shirley Johnson; one brother, Harry Walker; six grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Good Shepherd Episcopal Churchyard with Reverend David Collyer officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2016 at the Teague Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Crozet Baptist Church Building Fund, 5804 St. George Ave., Crozet, VA 22932 or a charity of your choice.
