Margaret Page Chapman, 94, a resident of Morningside Assisted Living, in Charlottesville, VA., passed away peacefully Friday morning, March 20, 2015. Born on November 26, 1920, in Winchester, VA., she was the daughter of the late Florence Whiting Laws and Frank Montgomery Anderson. Both her brother, James Carlin Anderson and sister, Dorothy Ellen Anderson preceded her in death. Page married Donald Alfred Chapman on December 26, 1941, who preceded her in death on July 17, 2005. Page and Don had two sons: Donald Jr. (deceased) and Mark. Page married Donald Alfred Chapman, Sr. on December 26, 1941. Page is survived by her son Mark Stephen Chapman and his wife Susan Ann (McClanahan) Chapman of Troy and grandchildren Tara Diane, husband David Via, and Rebecca Arlene; her daughter-in-law Judith Levon (Machamer) Chapman of Suffolk, VA., and grandchildren Katherine Ann, husband Robert Thomas Cain, Jr., Alan Raymond, Wayne Bradley, Rachel Aileen and Janet Levon, husband Keith Arthur; and her great-grandchildren Zachary and Jenna. Page graduated from Shawnee High School in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She also resided in Richmond, VA, and Washington, D.C. before marriage. She was a long time resident of Falls Church, VA. and worked as a bank teller and full time housewife. Page was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was active in church work and a member of National Gardens Baptist Church. Page taught Sunday School class and tutored English as a second language to Korean women. She enjoyed traveling and trailer camping with Don and enjoyed all types of card games. Nobody could compare to her in her skillful use of two letter words during Scrabble games. Page accompanied Don’s guitar playing with an omnichord instrument. She was also a talented artist and skilled in crocheting and knitting. Page loved cats and often boasted of her pets’ activities. A memorial service to honor Page will be held at Teague Funeral Services, 2260 Ivy Road, Charlottesville, VA 22903, on Friday March 27, 2015, at 2 P.M. Internment will be at Mount Hebron Cemetery, 305 East Boscawen Street, Winchester, VA. 22601 on Monday March 30 at 1 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Page Chapman to the Alzheimer's Association at 1160 Pepsi Place, Suite 306, Charlottesville, VA 22901.
