Larry was preceded in death by his father Riley Carroll, Sr. and Mother Virginia B Carroll and brother Lloyd Neil Carroll.
Larry is survived by his brother Riley Carroll, Jr., sister Tracey Carroll, and his wife Lisa Carroll, son Ryan Carroll, daughters Megan Carroll and partner Dan, Holly Darnell and husband Matt, Sara Thomas and husband DJ. Seven beautiful grandchildren-Jaiden Carroll, Caitlyn Darnell, Charlotte Darnell, Caleb Darnell, Cole Thomas, Cloee Thomas and Cameron Thomas.
In his grandchildren, he found the purest joy and deepest pride. His love for them knew no bounds, evident in every smile, hug and cherished moment spent together. They were the light of his life, filling his days with laughter, love and endless happiness. He treasured every opportunity to watch them grow, guiding them with wisdom, kindness and unwavering love.
Larry's passion for excavation work is like watching an artist meticulously craft a masterpiece. With each shovel full of earth, his dedication and enthusiasm shine through revealing a deep-seated love for unearthing history and uncovering stories buried beneath the surface. But when the workday ends and the sun sets low on the horizon, Larry's other passion comes to life. Cooking at BBQ for friends and family. He gained the nickname Chicken Larry.
Larry, whether he's digging deep into the earth, or flipping burgers on the grill, every moment was an opportunity to share his love with the world.
We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the passionate, dedicated CCU medical staff at Uva Hospital whose unwavering care and support provided comfort and solace during his time of need. Their tireless efforts will forever be remembered with overwhelming compassion.
A visitation for Larry will be held Friday, April 26, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Teague Funeral Service.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
