Kathy Sue Clark, 71, of Charlottesville, passed away on May 2, 2021 after a 12-year battle with cancer. She fought this disease with much courage, never uttering a complaint. This is a great testimony not only of her never-ending positive outlook on life, but also in the faith she had in Jesus who she knew had her firmly nestled in His hands.
Kathy was born on February 18, 1950, in Morristown, Tennessee, to her loving mother, Mary McCampbell. She graduated from Morristown High School and later moved to Virginia where she worked for Giant Food for many years. Upon her retirement, she worked part-time as a bank teller for BB&T in Charlottesville. Kathy was known for her love of music and possessed a lovely singing voice. She spent many years singing in the choir at Covenant Church and thoroughly enjoyed singing praises to her Lord. She walked closely with God which was evident by her meekness of spirit, kindness towards others, and patience with even the most challenging of situations.
In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her mother and father, Mary and James McCampbell , and brother, Jackie Kimbrough.
Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Andy Clark, two daughters, Gina Talley (Ronnie) and Tamela Crickenberger (Bobby), two granddaughters, Trinity Fields (Andrew) and Emma Talley, and one beloved great-granddaughter, Scarlett. She is also survived by a much-loved brother, Kenny Kimbrough, and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, Kathy wanted any memorial contributions to be made to Legacy Hospice at 14 Old Oaks Dr, Suite, 101, Fishersville, VA 22939. There are angels on this earth and they are called hospice nurses. They took such excellent care of Kathy in her last days and the family is eternally grateful for that care.
