Jack was born in Brooklyn, NY and grew up in New Jersey. He attended Seton Hall Prep and Seton Hall University, where he excelled as an ace left-handed pitcher for the Pirates. He could have gone on to professional baseball if not for a shoulder injury. Instead, he took a position with NY Life, where he was destined to meet his beautiful bride, Marge, and enjoy the next 58 years together. Jack had a very successful career as a systems analyst until Sept 11, 2001, when a plane flew into his building at the World Trade Center in NYC. He thankfully survived this infamous event and moved with Marge to Lake Monticello, VA for several years before spending his final days in Charlottesville. You will miss seeing him in all of the local supermarkets, shopping for great deals and flashing his beloved coupons. And no one took inventory of the weekly church donations quite like him.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in Jack’s memory to:
*All Blessings Flow (2335 Seminole La, Charlottesville, VA 22901,
*Hospice of the Piedmont (675 Peter Jefferson Pkwy, Charlottesville, VA 22901
*For those of you age 70+, Jack would be very impressed if you donated through your IRA as a QCD. (Consult your Tax Advisor for more.)
A funeral mass will be held at Church of the Incarnation on Saturday January 29th at 2PM.
Visitation will be held from 1PM to 2PM in the Daily Chapel for guests to express their condolences to the family.
A celebration of Jack’s Life is planned for the Spring on Long Island.
