Jerry Michael Berman, 73, of Ruckersville, Va., passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at the Center for Acute Hospice Care. He was born on February 18, 1951, in Schenectady, New York, to the late Max and Margaret (Cummings) Berman, the second of five children.
Jerry loved serving his Lord Jesus Christ, serving others, and caring for his family. His proudest moments were spending 40 years with the love of his life, Ellen Berman, raising his two sons, welcoming his daughter-in-law to the family, and becoming a first-time grandpa.
Jerry worked at the Supreme Court of Virginia for 36 years in multiple leadership roles as a programmer for the state’s case management system. He loved games, especially playing board games with his family on Sunday afternoons.
In addition to his wife, Ellen, he leaves behind his sons, Matthew Berman and Michael Berman; his daughter-in-law, Lauren Berman; his grandson, Owen Berman; four siblings, Joe Berman and his wife Nancy, Ann Vaden and her husband Peter, David Berman and his wife Marica, and Becky Martin; and several nephews, nieces, grandnephews, and grandnieces.
There will be no public services at this time.
