Pinky, your mom gave you that nickname when you were born because she knew you would be someone special with a zest for life and a heart of gold. I’m far away In miles and missed many of your trips to Detroit, but when I was able to visit home you would always make an effort to be there because you wanted to show me and the rest of the family how much you loved us. Love you Neice (Pinky) and pray you’re now walking on the seashore with the ancestors looking over the rest of us!🙏🏿 Uncle Will

I met Janice over 20 years ago at the Borough of Manhattan Community College.   She was a student and I was a biology tutor.  We liked each other immediately... Janice was a woman of intelligence..creativity and grace...who was also caring and generous... She advocated for her community in Harlem and did what she could to make it a better place to live... Janice lived in beauty and love and had a good sense of humor... I always enjoyed myself with Ms. Janice 

I will always remember my visit with you they were always special and a education,you would not let me spent a dime and we would talk about the old time in Detroit,you Will always have a special place in my heart.R.I.P

Janice was an amazing friend who always made me smile and laugh when I saw her. She gave me the name Queen and for my birthday she gave me an amazing picture that she took and had it specially framed for me. I carry that name proudly knowing she gave it to me. I have a puppy that I just got and named her Queen Mercedes. God bless you my friend. I’ll mourn you until I join you.

Auntie Pinky! I love you so much and you will be outrageously missed. You were the life of the party the laughter and fun you brought was an energy unmatchable. I will always remember the trip to Florida we took. Let’s just say you ended up on the hotel balcony with a little less clothes than expected Lol thank you for being the free spirit that you were it left a great impression on me and I hope one day to meet you again in the next life.

Wish I could be there for and with my grandma, cousins, aunts and uncles experiencing this loss. Love and miss you guys too.

I have so many Memories of my Niece (Pinky)! The one that I will never forget is when she Graduated from College. Pinky was driving Me,Brenda and Denise around New York! She was driving like most New Yorkers Drive ! I have never Prayed as hard as I did that day! I promised the Lord that I would not ride with her again ever! I Loved My Niece and She Loved Her Family! Pinky would always Help and would give you her last! She will be Truly Missed! There was only one Janice Paige Best (Jan-Jan and Pinky)! I Love You !!! Rest in the Arms of God!
