Friends knew him as “Big Ed”. And any one of them would tell you that is how he lived his life. He loved his cats & dogs and even the pet pig. He also loved gardening, fresh flowers, cooking and he had a great eye for artwork and collecting. He never met a stranger, and had a smile or conversation for anyone, even just passers by on the street.
Big Ed was an avid sports fan; he especially loved baseball. Some of his favorite teams were the Norfolk Tides, New York Mets and the New York Yankees.
The family wishes to thank the staff of the 3rd floor at the UVA hospital for their kindness, Dr’s and staff at the Martha Jefferson Hospital, especially the cardiac unit, and Dr’s and staff of Southern Albemarle Family Practice.
