Elizabeth Shifflett

Elizabeth Wise Harris Shifflett of North Garden (formerly of Earlysville) passed away peacefully on June 19, 2020 at her residence. Elizabeth was born August 28, 1941 in Free Union, Va to the late Waverly Harris and the late Edith Gibson Harris.

Elizabeth is survived by her four children; Brenda Shifflett and her husband Randy of Standardsville, Sandy Marshall and her friend Herb of North Garden, Gary Shifflett and his wife Natalie LaVerne of Ruckersville and Roy Shifflett and his wife Linda of Myrtle Beach. Six grandchildren; W.C. Marshall, Curtis Marshall (Amanda), Elizabeth Morris (Junior), Billy Shifflett, Ricky Shifflett (Jennifer) and Lauren Shifflett (Derek). Nineteen Great-grandchildren; Amber, Cody, Jacob, William, Ray, Liam, Willow, Autumn, Carly, Dakota, Dylan, Asia, Austin, Melissa, Christian, Jaydon, Aaron, Rachel and Jonathan. Three Great-Great-grandchildren; Daysie, Alaya and Averie.

She is also survived by her siblings; Sister Margaret Morris (Junior), Brother Waverly Harris, sister in Law Joyce Harris Conley and brother in law Elvin Taylor. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

In addition to her parents Elizabeth is preceded in death by her sister Martha Taylor, Brother Thomas Harris and sister in law Ester Harris.

She is also preceded in death by her Grand-daughter Nicole Shifflett whom she raised as a daughter and Andrea Shifflett and a Great-Grandson Brendon Morris.

A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at Bethel Baptist Church, 5401 Watts Passage Rd. Charlottesville, Va. 22911 with Pastor Wendell Lamb officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens.

Memorial donations may be made in her name to Hospice of the Piedmont, with a special Thanks to Dr. Mark Niehaus for his care toward Liz though the years.
