Smitty was born July 4, 1950 to the late Betty and Clarence Smith Sr.
Smitty was preceded in death by his parents, brothers John and George, his son Clarence "Mane" Smith, and his first wife Margaret Smith.
Smitty Leaves to cherish his memories are his wife Rev. Mary Smith, daughter Cartina Richardson (Pierre), sons Christopher Hawkins (Melissa), stepsons Andrew Rush II, and Larry Henderson, sisters Barbara Bellamy, Juanita Brock, and Mary Douglas, brothers Eddie Cecil (Arleen), Robert Lee, and Leroy Smith, mother in law Shirley Henderson.
Smitty had 13 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, five sister in laws, Beatrice and Linda Fisher, Brenda Henderson, Theresa Henderson, and Gwen Henderson, five brother in laws, James, Harold, and Kenneth Henderson, WIllie Fisher, and Mike Douglas, two aunts Dee Dee Smith, and Ruby Henderson, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Smitty's special friends were Tyrone Brackett, George Stevens, Mike Douglas, Thomas and Phyllis Rush, and Sheila Boling.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, in Covesville, VA.
Smitty worked for Augusta Lumber, and was a tractor trailer driver for Chiles Orchard.
The family would like to thank his prayer warriors Bishop Gohanna, Pastor Sheldon Page, Rev. Carol Page, Pastor Mary Johnson, Rev. Dorothy Payne, Rev. Linda Johnson, Rev. Joe Chambers Jr., and Rev. Katie Chamber, and to Cynthia "CC" Whendleton for taking him back and forth to his appointments.
