Carol is survived by her husband of 32 years G.L. Kirby, III. It would be difficult to name all of Carol’s interests, but she loved to travel early in their marriage to the Smoky Mountains, Myrtle Beach, Stone Mountain GA and the greatest times were in the Bahamas for 17 years.
Carol loved to catfish, be on the boat, hunt, growing vegetables and flowers to give to others. Her greatest joy late in life was making homemade quilts and crocheting blankets to give to the children’s hospital, senior centers, dialysis center, Veterans and to all of her wonderful caregivers on the Martha Jefferson Cancer Team at the hospital.
A special hug to her very close friend, Lois Thacker at MJH who was with her during her toughest times. Carol asked to be cremated and her ashes to be spread in the ocean at a later date.
There will be no formal services. The family kindly asks you make a memorial contribution in Carol’s honor to the Martha Jefferson Hospital Cancer Center, 500 Martha Jefferson Drive Charlottesville VA 22911. Til we meet again my love, I love you.
