William Dennis Wade Sr.

William “Dennis” Wade, 93 of Charlotte went to be with this Lord and Savior on January 2, 2019. He was born to the late Maynard and Rose Wade in Westchester, Pennsylvania on February 26, 1925. Dennis was preceded in death by his wife Frances, son Edward Barry Wade and siblings Edward, Robert and Catherine Wade.

Dennis is survived by his son William Dennis Wade “Denny” Jr. and his wife Denise, granddaughter Alison Turnbaugh (Nick), grandson Jacob Wade (Bear) and three grandchildren.

Dennis served proudly in the Navy from 1943 until 1946. In 1948, he met his future wife Frances Earnhardt on a blind date. They married in June 1950. Dennis and Frances settled into the Windsor Park neighborhood in 1955 where they raised their two sons, Denny and Barry.

From 1961 until he retired in 1984, Dennis worked as an insurance agent for Prudential where he developed life-long friendships with his clients.

For many years Dennis and Frances worked with the Gideons distributing bibles. Dennis was a member of First Baptist Church for over 50 years. In 2003 Dennis wrote and published the book “Only the Righteous”. Dennis passion in life was to serve Christ and his family.

The family will greet friends on Monday, January 7th 2018 beginning at 1pm at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park, located at 5716 Monroe Road in Charlotte prior to a 2pm graveside service at Sharon Memorial Park.
