William Boyd Rycroft

William Boyd Rycroft entered Eternity on Friday, July 6, 2018. Born in Surry County to Ira and Sarah Rycroft on December 23, 1948. Bill lived at the Jr. Order Home in Lexington, NC from 1962 to 1967. He retired from Coca-Cola Consolidated.

Bill was pre-deceased in addition to his parents by three brothers and one sister and is survived by one sister, Nancy Graham and one brother, Garvie Richardson.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sandra Melton Rycroft; two sons, Christopher L. Melton (Heather) and William A. Rycroft; mother-in-law, Sara Melton; sister-in-law, Debra Gaddy (Ray); two special nieces, Terri Benfield (Aaron) and Ashley Phillips (Brad) and their families including four of the most loved grandchildren on the Earth.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of the Cardiac ICU at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC for their care given to Bill and respect and support shown to the family. Thank you also for the wonderful care provided by his physician team over the years.

The family will receive friends from 6:30pm to 8:30pm on Wednesday July 11. The funeral service will be the following day, Thursday July 12 at 2:30pm; both at Forest Lawn West Funeral Home.
