Wallace Stewart Auten

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, June 26 at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212 with the interment to follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Wallace was born July 28, 1926, in Mecklenburg Co., NC to the late George Williamson and Nora Godfrey Auten. He was a World War II Veteran having served in Germany while in the Army.

In addition to his to his parents Mr. Auten was preceded in death by his wife Libby Jean Auten and nine siblings. He is survived by his sons, Marlon G. Auten, Tony Stewart Auten, Alan Gene Auten all of Charlotte; grandchildren, Erran Gilchrist, Brandyn Steffes, Caren Martin, Marsha Foster, Jessica Auten, and great grandchildren, Skylar, Alyssa, Devon, Kaylee, Anslee and Sofia.

The family wishes to express their great appreciation to the staff of Brighten Gardens Assisted Living and White Oak Manor for the care and compassion given to their father.
