Virginia Entrekin Wade was born May 8, 1932 to Byron and Lois Entrekin in Bowdon, GA. After the loss of her parents at age five, she became the daughter of Howell and Flora Entrekin and moved to Charlotte.
Virginia graduated from Crossnore High School in Crossnore, NC in 1950 with honors in business. She worked for Westinghouse Electric Corporation in Charlotte for 39 years.
Virginia was married to Ernest E. Wade, Jr. in September 1950. They lived many happy years on their small farm in Matthews. She lost her husband "Bus" in 2009.
Virginia is survived by her sister, Sylvia Jane Entrekin of Goldsboro, NC; nephews Phillip and Alan Parry, Stephen Entrekin of Chester, NJ and niece Sonja Underwood of Maryville, TN.
Also surviving are nephews Mark and Lane Wade and their devoted families.
Virginia's family wishes contributions to be made in lieu of flowers to Matthews Glen Samaritan's Fund or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
