Mr. McCorkle, age 24, of Charlotte, died Friday, November 28, 2014 at Carolinas Medical Center – Main. Born September 12, 1990 in Mecklenburg Co, he was the son of William Eugene McCorkle and Sharlene Wright McCorkle. Blaine was a 2012 graduate of Vance High School. He was a member of the Baptist Boys’ Battalion while attending Liberty Baptist Church. He enjoyed MDA Camp for 8 summers. Blaine worked with Community Service Network, Loaves and Fishes, Men’s Shelter and Friendship Trays.
The family will receive friends 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM Tuesday, December 2nd at Promised Land Baptist Church. The service to celebrate Blaine’s life will follow at 6:00 PM at the church sanctuary with Reverend Harold Blankenship officiating. Graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday at Charlotte Memorial Gardens.
In addition to his parents, Blaine is survived by his foster parents, Karita and Ricardo Freeman; brother, Stephen McCorkle; sisters, Mary Munguia (Roberto) and Rebekah McCorkle (Cesar); maternal grandmother, Shirly Brackett; paternal grandmother, Jackie Taylor; uncle, Andy Taylor; aunt, Tina Jenkins (Steve); nieces, Lili and Kami Munguia; and cousins, Tabatha Deese and Eli. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Vincent McCorkle; maternal grandfather, Charles Brackett; and paternal grandfather, Kenneth Taylor.
