Verna Taylor Chambers

Mrs. Chambers, age 89 of Charlotte passed away Tuesday December 10, 2013 at Carmel Hill Retirement Center. She was born in Ideal GA on June 2, 1924 to the late Dale Edgar and Katie Mae Dominey Taylor, in addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Clifton J. Chambers in 1985. Mrs. Chambers was a church secretary and a member of Midwood Baptist Church for over 60 years. She loved to spend time with her family and church family. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. Friday December 13, 2013 at McEwen Funeral Service Charlotte Chapel 5716 Monroe Rd.

Charlotte, NC 28212 with a service to follow at 2:00 P. M., in the funeral home chapel conducted by Reverend Doctor Garry Baldwin. Interment will follow at Sharon Memorial Park. She is survived by her son Cliff Chambers and wife Susan of Matthews, her daughter Wanda Chambers Alhizer and husband Al of Charlotte, granddaughters, Amanda Thomas and husband Brad of Monroe, Leslie Chambers of Charlotte, great granddaughters, Emily Bashus and Lauren Thomas and a brother Henry Monroe “Pete” Taylor and wife Mary Lou of AK.
