Dr. Martin and his team were best people and dentists I’ve ever met that were kind and generous people Dr. Martin was so sweet and make you smile  I will always remember him very beautiful person

Dr. Martin was awesome!  I started with him at the Woodlawn location, i remember my first visit How mad he was at me because I hadn’t been to the dentist in a while and had to get a teeth pull. He was mad like he was my dad, i knew right then he cared and he stayed my dentist for 15+ years and I sent many other customers to him.  I remember how hard it was for the practice to lose the guy who was the office manager not sure what he did but it had to be something that couldn’t be mended because Dr. Martin took pride in his office.  I remember when his assistant continued to mess up and the next time I came she was gone.  There was an adjustment of getting the right staff in the new location but when he found them they were there for the duration. It speaks volumes of his character.  Thank you for taking great care of me

I am so sorry to hear this. I was a patient of his for ten years and I had no idea he was fighting this battle. I am hoping that he went peacefully and praying for his family. 

He was such a great friend. I shared classes with him in high school and got to know him best as a fellow brother in Troop 3 in Concord. What a great human being. I will miss you Todd.

Sitting here this morning, still thinking about your premature passing from this life. My friend for over fifty years. Sharing our times together at Concord High, in class and on the basketball court. My comrade on many adventures leading up to you standing with me as my best man when I married my beautiful wife, Kim. Visiting you in Wilmington, helping you set up a computer system at the Woodlawn practice, two friends moving forward in life. You being there at the hospital for David’s birth, that meant the world to me. Time passed, more children blessed our lives and the realities of careers and family diminished our time together. But, whenever we were together it was like time had never passed.

The last time we saw each other, I told you that you would beat this because we still had things to do. I noticed how tired and weak you looked, but I knew if anyone could defeat this sickness, it would be Todd. At the memorial service, I told Kim, Andy and Brandi that I will carry the many memories of you in my heart and mind until the time when you and I will meet again.

Dr. Todd Martin will be really missed, he was a great professional, and a very good man. I will never forget how he helped me a lot, it was an implant that I started in Brazil, and nobody else in USA could finished, but he did it, Dr. Todd Martin finished it, he did a great work.
I pray for his family, I know that’s not easy.

We are so sorry to hear about the passing of Todd.   Sending up prayers that you and your family will find peace in the days and weeks ahead. 

Dr. Martin has been my Dentist for over 20 years.  After many Dental issues he was able to do repairs that  cosmetically were outstanding.  He was the very best in his field.  Over the years I came to know he and his staff as well as his wife Kim very well.  This breaks my heart that he is gone.  He was one of a kind and he will be so missed.  He was a great person.

Although I only got to meet Todd once, I’m so grateful to him for raising Brandi, who has become one of my most cherished and amazing friends. I also am so grateful that he helped create one of my favorite memories of college: taking us to Page Farms and helping this SoCal girl experience what real fall is. I can recall that day so vividly — rustling leaves and corn stalks, the orange pumpkins and hay bales glowing in the sun, the sugary hot donuts, and the way he and Kim clambered up a makeshift hill to go down the slide. His presence that day made me feel as though I could freely enjoy myself like a child, and I hadn’t felt that sort of open excitement in a long time. It is such a blessing to have known his spirit. To Brandi, Kim, and the Martin family, I send you all my love.

Todd was like a second father to me; he always made me feel welcome in his home, though that meant teasing me endlessly (something that was very much needed). Forever one of the funniest people I will ever meet, he gave me one of the most important people in my life: his beautiful daughter and my best friend of 13 years, Brandi. Your smile, humor, and overall energy will be forever missed and I will never forget the impact you had on my childhood.

I have known Dr. Todd almost 25 years of my life. The first time we met, we had language barrier. He looked at me trying to get me to understand him but despite any problems Dr. Todd was willing to work with me. He was my best dentist, kind, always made me laugh at every appointment. My condolences to his family and staff. I miss him already, May he rest in peace.


Dr Martin was unmatched in his work and genuine care for his patients' health.   He really did make dentistry into art, leaving us all with the legacy of healthier and happier smiles, and the memory of man who truly cared.

This past year, a year filled with his own health worries and pain, Dr Martin saved our oldest's teeth,  pointing out that he was grinding them down too fast --  something pediatric dentist never caught.  

My oldest son now has braces and will have healthy teeth past age 24 (deterioration age estimated by our orthodontist, had Dr. Martin not been so adamant about the need to address).

And just last month, right before Dr Martin left office for his own health, he, busy as can be, still found time to fit my younger son in, easing worries about a new tooth awkwardly coming in.  My son, who was worried for months, has not brought the tooth up, even once, since seeing Dr Martin.

My family's trust into Dr Martin was unwavering.  We are extremely saddened by this loss.  In each and every smile, however, there will be a glimpse of Dr Martin, his touch and his art. 



My heart goes out to you and your family for the loss of a love one Dr. Martin was a very go dentist and nice kind took his job very seriously he will greatly be missed with my deepest sympathy made he Rest In Peace Sincerely Howard Adams .

I relocated to the Charlotte area in 2008 and my co worker referred me to Doc Martin. I have been a loyal patient ever since. He was the absolute BEST dentist I ever had in my entire life. I cried when I saw the notification post. Heart broken.

To be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord. The troubles of this world no longer belong to Doc Martin. He now walks on streets paved in gold.
I pray comfort and strength for Mrs. Martin, Family, Friends & Art Dentistry Staff.

I want to say, that the first day I met Dr Martin, he was very quiet the first few times with me, as I am an introvert (until I get to know a person). What I learned from dr Martin, was even though he was quiet, unlike the dentist I had in Florence SC, his work was impeccable, and very good at helping me feel at ease, which was a first for me. And he did incredible detailed work. His staff was like a family to each other. And I remember getting a painful tooth worked on. He told me I needed a mouth guard, and I was amazed at the technology he used. I had used that mouth guard for years, bc it wasn’t cheap, and it had gotten so tight, I brought it in and told him, I don’t mind paying for a new one, but his wife Kim said, if u need one, we will just give it to you. I was just amazed how caring his wife was, towards me and not only did he somehow fix it, but I think he put it in something to loosen the material to fit it back easily in my mouth. He was good  at his job. I’ve never had a dentist so incredibly talented. The funny thing, is somehow along the way, me and Todd’s wife, Kim, and his daughter somehow started going out for  lunches. I loved how genuine and real they were. And how well raised Brandi was. Everytime I saw dr Martin, I always joked around how lucky Kim  and Todd were, and how incredibly amazing his daughter was. She was so smart, like him. And so humble and genuine. So was Kim. And Todd was like that too. With Todd I always talked about his family. And he was so humble and genuine. I don’t think I will ever find a dentist like him. And I am so sorry to Kim, Brandi and the rest of his family. He put a big impact on me not only as a dentist but as a family man. Praying comfort to Kim, Brandi, and the rest of his children.  He was loved by many. And your stories of his life will live on forever. Dr. Martin  has been our family dentist for 20 years and has always shown care, compassion and professionalism.  He was a perfectionist and didn't stop until he was completely satisfied with a procedure.  My husband Alvin and I will truly miss him in our lives. Todd Martin will be terribly missed. My heart goes out to Kim, his girls and his grandchildren.  My funny memory of Todd was when Kim & Todd hosted my young triplets at their home for my kids first sleepover (they were friends with Brandi).  I came over in the morning to pick up the kids and my son was in the kitchen with Todd eating chocolate pretzels for breakfast.  We got a big laugh teasing Todd about the future cavities and business that breakfast would provide.  
My entire family became patients of Art Denistry.  Todd was a true perfectionist and our smiles are better off because of Todd's talent as a dentist.  
Much love and hugs to the Martin family.  Everyone remains in our prayers during this painful time.  Todd will be terribly missed by everyone.



Dr Martin always reminded me of the good qualities that my step brother has. Over the years he has seen the inside of my mouth probably as much as all other dentists combined. I know he will be greatly missed by Kim, their children, the Art Dentistry staff as well as his patients. 


My family and I will truly miss Dr. Martin.  He was the one we  trusted for dental care. Once, years ago, Dr. Martin proved to be a gentle man. As he was working on my teeth he must have seen something on my face...an expression maybe... suddenly he stopped and asked if we needed to stop for awhile...he was right;  my blood pressure had fallen , I  was a bit dizzy but we were able to finish that root canal successfully.  After that I  was hooked and before that,  since my previous dentist was also named Dr. Martin.
     May you all be strong during these unhappy times, stay well.


I found Dr. Martin in distress with an abscessed tooth that needed a root canal. After a harrowing first visit, he acquainted me with techniques to make my visits more tolerable, and he restored my faith in a regular dental regimen. I loved coming into his office, even scheduling my appointments around when SpongeBob was on so we could watch our favorite cartoon together. He is the reason I’m not ashamed of my smile. He was a rock star dentist, and I told him so every time I saw him. It’s weird to be so close to a dentist, but I spent a lot of time in his office, and I’m so grateful to have known the amazing person he was. Kim and family - all my love. Know that others knew Todd and share in the grief of his absence.💜

Todd has been my dentist since the early 1980’s. He has always been a friendly caring person. When I visited the office, he was interested in what I was doing in life and we would talk about our children as they were born and grew up. I moved an hour  from Charlotte in the early ‘90s and tried a local dentist. After one visit I immediately went back to Todd because I trusted him and he always made me comfortable when I sat in that chair. Not to mention that he always had the coolest tools and nicest staff! I consider Todd a friend and will miss our chats and his mastery at work. I am glad that he cultivated an inviting office atmosphere with people whom I plan to continue with. To Kim, the children, and office staff, I extend heartfelt condolences from the Gilmore family. Todd leaves a great legacy in his profession and will sorely be missed.

My memories of Dr Martin, where to start?!?! At my first office visit, back in 2009, I thought Dr Martin was a little abrasive and I told him as much. He gave me a look, looked at his assistant and walked out the room. But from then on, I felt we had an understanding with one another. At each visit, He made a point to always be polite and was genuinely concerned about how I was doing. I will definitely miss Dr Martin, Doc as I called him. My heart and condolences goes out to Kim and the rest of the family during your time of sorrow. He was definitely the best dentist ever. RIP 😪

To the family of Dr. Todd Martin,

I pray that God will Comfort you. I pray that Holy Spirit will give you peace that surpasses all understanding. I pray that when friends and family have gone their separate ways,  the Holy Spirit will hold you in his arms and allow you to grieve this awesome Man that God gifted the earth with.   I recall when  I needed a root canal.  I didn’t have insurance to cover it. I did not have the money for it.  Dr. Martin did it anyway.   He will be missed!

Dr. Martin was the best dentist on the planet. I had the privilege of being his patient for 15 years. I was more eager with each visit to anticipate how his unique brand of dry humor would find it’s way in one of our many conversations, but the best feeling ever was when I was able to make him laugh. The task was never easy but always worth it. I will miss him dearly and will continue to keep his family and staff in my thoughts and prayers 💗

Todd was a special soul who could make you laugh in his dental chair and still open his home to you with arms wide open. He gave me my smile and a second family with Kim & Brandi. I could not be more grateful for the decade I’d gotten to know him.

To Kim, Brandi, Jaimee, and Krystal…my love and my heart is with you through this devastating loss. You’ve lost such a great man, but I know his memory lives on in each of you and I will always be there for you all if you need anything. This is unimaginable and I can’t pretend to know your pain. I love you, and just know his legacy has left a mark deep in the hearts of so many, and will continue to do so.

Kim, Brandi and family,

We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Todd. We have great memories have seeing Todd and Kim at every one of Brandi’s  orchestra concerts, color guard and school play performances. My son just said that “Todd is the guy Dad would talk to for 2 hours.” We would run into Todd at the YMCA, the grocery store, everywhere. He often would have his green dentist uniform on just having come from work providing for his family. Todd was a very warm, kind hearted man, loving husband and father, always doing his best for others. He did leave this world a better place and will be missed by us and many others.   Love and Prayers  to the entire Martin Family from The Tobin Family.

I remember frantically flipping thru the Yellow Pages looking for a Dentist who would be able to fix what another damaged. Dr. Martin didn’t disappoint only to remain as our Family Dentist for 20+ years. So then, the 2000 word maximum just isn’t enough for us to tell of our experience in the Office of Dr. Martin and his amazing staff. You will truly be missed, but never forgotten.
