Tom is survived by his wife of 47 years, Donna Smith, son David Smith, and daughter Karen Autry, Granddaughters Abby, Ava and Breanna Autry.
After his service in the Navy he joined the workforce and retired from the VA in 1993.
A Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017 from 11 AM to 1 PM, with the Funeral to follow at 1 PM at McEwen Funeral Home - Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Rd., Charlotte, NC 28210.
