Thomas Sligh Jr.

Thomas Sligh, Jr. Mr. Sligh, age 77, of Charlotte, died Sunday, January 10, 2010 at his home. Born July 3, 1932 in Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late Thomas and Lula Mae Sligh. Mr. Sligh served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Michelin Corporation. The service to celebrate the life of Thomas Sligh, Jr. will be held 11:00 AM Friday, January 22, 2010 at Wilson Funeral & Cremation Service. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM in the Salisbury National Cemetery. Survivors include six children, Richard Sligh (Patricia) of Bronx, NY, Tangie Jackson (Reggie), Cheryl Kinard (Joe) and Barbara Crawford, all of Charlotte, Daryl Chiles (Pam) and Ronald Lee Crawford, both of Greenville, SC; twenty grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; three grandchildren reared by Thomas, Lamont Payton (Terra), Shanica Payton and Alex Crawford; a godson, Orain Payton; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. In addition to his parents, Mr. Sligh was preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve Crawford Sligh; two sons, Paul and Thomas; and his siblings.
