I'm so sad to hear of Dr. Buckley's passing, and sad that I cannot adopt his two babies whom I know he loved so much. My husband tolerates our two kitties (adopted a year ago  - one is a Snowshoe!) after our previous babies Lily and Sophie (17 and 16) passed away the year prior. Dr. Buckley and his wonderful staff took care of Lily and Sophie AND our prior kitty, Argyle- with loving and patient care of me and the kitties....we went through a lot of crisis with Lily. He was a kind man who went out of his way to even make a few house calls here in the neighborhood! Dr. Buckley was such a caring man and I know he was treasured by his family and will be greatly missed. My sympathies and prayers are with you all at this sad time.

I played neighborhood baseball with Tommy during his teen years on Creola Road. My family lived int he corner white house on Providence, and we had a large field in which we played ball.  It was through this experience that I knew Tommy and had a growing appreciation for his sportsmanship and friendship.  Have not seen him since. Sorry to hear of his passing.

The Pineville community has lost one of the brightest and best vets ever.  Those who knew him and called him friend were blessed.  My deepest sympathy and prayers go out to his family at this difficult time.

Dr. Buckley was our veterinarian for 20 years.  When we first met him, we had 3 cats but eventually that number increased to 8, after 5 feral strays found our backyard.  We have many stories of the care and compassion of Dr. Buckley but one stands out in particular.  One of our feral kittens had somehow lost part of her back leg and we feared that she would need to be euthanized.  However, Dr. Buckley surgically removed the rest of her leg and kept her at his practice for a month while she healed.  He boarded her at no charge to us.  He even had a photo taken of her and sent to us while she was recovering in his care.  We knew then that Dr. Buckley was special and he will always have a place in our hearts.  We miss him so.

We are so saddened to hear about Dr. Buckley's passing..Our pets were patients in his practices (with a little interruption) from 1988 until 2013. He inspired such trust with his care, compassion, humor and warmth.  We feel blessed to have had him provide excellent care for part of our family. We extend our sympathy to your family..

Dr. B was a good mentor.  He taught me chemotherapy.   So patient and quick to joke.  Dry sense of humor that I miss so much.  I really wanted to work for him because he had a picture of Jesus in the treatment room of his Hospital. After I was hired I enjoyed my years with him.  You will be missed by so many humans and animals.

Dr. Buckley was the reason I went to veterinary school and he taught me so much about how to be a compassionate veterinarian. I started working for him at Pineville Animal Hospital during college, and when he heard I may be interested in going to vet school, he made me an assistant and taught me everything he could. He was supportive throughout vet school, and gave me my first job as a veterinarian in 1999. He was my mentor and like a second father to me.  He was the best boss I could ask for, always there with helpful advice and humor of course.  I have many wonderful memories of my time working alongside him and Dr. Ashley Peterson. I will miss him dearly.

I started working for Dr. B when I was just a teenager and we formed a very close bond. He was like a second father to me and I enjoyed our next 23 years together. We argued, laughed, cried, and loved to pull pranks on one another. I loved this man dearly and my heart is truly broken. My thoughts and prayers are with his family in this time of sorrow. Rest in peace my dear friend "Kahuna".  I love you.

Goodbye to one of the loveliest men we ever knew. Tom took such dear care of our dogs and I was broken hearted when he closed his practice....now I know why. As the widow of an Alzheimer's sufferer, I send my deepest condolences to Tom's family. I'm now living in Colorado to be near my family but many have let me know of Tom's passing. He will be sorely missed.

So very sorry to hear about Dr Buckley. We were with Pineville for many many years and then with Buckley when he moved. We trusted him with all of our cats and dogs. He cried with us when they passed. He always said "Aren't they something!" He will be missed. Prayers for all of you.

Dr. Buckley was my mentor and like a second father. I came to work for him the summer after my freshman year in college to see if I wanted to be a vet. I continued to work for him summers during college and veterinary school and then the first 6 years of my veterinary career. He made work fun and taught me how to turn all my "book knowledge" into effective, compassionate medicine. He loved his patients, clients, and staff and I have not seen anyone in my 22 year career who comes close to his kindness and generosity. I know he was welcomed into the arms of Jesus with "Well done, good and faithful servant."

Love and condolences from first-cousin Janie - Tom was my buddy when we were little ones in Andover.  He was sweet and handsome throughout his life. God bless, Gail and family - your loss is heavy. We are thinking of you.

Tom was a great professional, and a wonderful friend.  People used to be amazed that we would bring our dogs from the Triangle just to have him treat them.  But they didn't know Tom.   I remember so clearly his compassion, and also his warmth and humor as a neighbor and friend.  Our family's thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I worked for Dr. Buckley and saw first hand not only how kind he was to his patients but also to his employees. I have many, many fond memories of my time at Pineville Animal Hospital working for him. I know he will be missed by his family but I am sure he is enjoying the company up in heaven.

Dr. Buckley was my Vet for many years and was the most wonderful, caring, man.  I have never had a Vet that loved animals as much as he did.  I know that God is welcoming him home now.

I cannot tell you how much Dr. Buckley meant to our entire family. I know he is at Rainbow Bridge now greeting all our fur babies he helped throughout the years. Dr. Buckley was the most kind and generous man. It was a true blessing to know him. Our prayers are with his family.
