Thelma Pearson Barnette

Thelma Pearson Barnette, 92, of Charlotte passed away peacefully October 6, 2022. Born November 30, 1929 in Boiling Springs, NC, she was the daughter of Jarvis and Verdie (Blanton) Pearson. She was the wife of Audrey “Whitey” Rotan Barnette.

She retired from Bell South after 36 years of employment.

A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Thelma enjoyed playing bingo, gardening, traveling, cooking, puzzles, visiting her beach house, decorating for Christmas and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Karen Williams, Michael Barnette, Jeffrey (Teresa) Barnette and Gail (Wesley) Fox; grandchildren, Kenny (Tracy), Kris (Megan), Tonya (Sean) David (Kelly), Blake (Amanda), Brandon (Hannah), Jared (Chelsea), Jeffrey (Melissa), Scott, Riley, Wesley (Emi) and Jacob; numerous great and great, great grandchildren; brothers, Bill, Gerald and Dan Pearson along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, Ken Barnette; sisters, Doris Bright and Betty Jean Cochran; brothers, Irvin and Obie Pearson.

A visitation for Thelma will be held from 2:00 until 3:00 PM Monday, October 10, 2022, at Forest Lawn West Funeral & Cremation Service, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte. Funeral service 3:00 PM at the funeral home chapel. Burial in Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
