Following graduation from Seventy-First High School in Fayetteville, NC, Terry entered the Navy. He had an entrepreneurial spirit, buying and selling multiple businesses over many successful years. In retirement, Terry loved spending leisure time with family in Wrightsville Beach and Banner Elk, NC. He played golf, enjoyed traveling, and was an avid Scotch collector.
Terry is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sharpe Dewar; two sons, Rick Dewar (Tammy) and J Dewar (Hope); three grandchildren, Haley, Hannah, and Jakob, all of Charlotte; as well as his brother, Brantley Dewar of Fayetteville, NC.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, February 28th in Harry & Bryant’s “Chapel in the Oaks”, 500 Providence Rd., Charlotte. The family will receive friends following the service.
