Terrell P Porter

Terrell “Terri” Pope Porter died on Tuesday,February 14, 2023 at Novant Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte after a brief illness. She was born November 6, 1940 in Charlotte, NC to Ardris Blake Pope and Veona Hewett Pope. She was employed for 34 years as a clerk for DuPont Automotive Products. She enjoyed reading, playing the piano, watching TV, and socializing with friends at Aldersgate. Neighbors on Pine Grove Court were special friends. Through the years Terri attended Whiting Avenue Baptist Church, Sharon Forest Baptist Church and Cornerstone Baptist Church. She enjoyed worship, Bible study and singing in the choir. She had a strong faith which sustained her throughout her life.

She was preceded by her first husband William “Bill” Cooper Hitchcock, daughter, Laura Michelle Hitchcock, son, Donald Blake Hitchcock, and her second husband, Earl Nathan Porter. She is survived by three stepdaughters, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren, and her toy poodle, Molly, whom she adored.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 21, 2023 10:00 a. m. at Mc Ewen Funeral Service Chapel on Monroe Road. Service will be at 11:00 a. m., officiated by Rev. Katie Roscoe. Committal will follow at 12:00 p. m. at Sharon Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Crisis Assistance Ministry or Samaritan’s Purse are suggested.
