Suzanne “Sue” Dorothy Martin joined the Lord on August 4, 2021 surrounded by her loving family at home. Sue was born on October 28, 1969 in Syracuse, New York. Sue is survived by her Husband, Tim Martin, Son, Padraig Martin, Mother, Marlene Dickinson, Sister, Dianne Buie (Jack), Brother, Michael Dickinson (Jane), Father-in-Law, Richard Martin, Mother-in Law, Teresa Martin, Sisters-in-Law, Sherry Elber (Niles), Katie Efland (Lindsay), Nephews, Robert Dickinson and Ryan Eber, Nieces, Sara Dickinson, Morgan Pope (Justin), Emily Efland, Allie Elber. She was proceeded in death by her beloved father, David Dickinson and of course we cannot forget her special buddy, Ralph!
Although Sue was well-known for her quiet, shy and gentle manner, her beautiful smile was only eclipsed by her amazing caring heart. A few loves in her life were her special animals, sports and unrivaled competitiveness. But, her true enjoyment and love in life came from spending time with her family, special friends and above all her most cherished husband and her greatest pride and joy, her son. For Padraig, your family and friends will continue your mother’s work instilling the core values of staying strong, believe in yourself, follow your dreams stay awesome and kindhearted and always remember that your mother will remain with you in your heart as your biggest and loudest cheerleader from above!
Sue also took great pride in her studies for Medical Coding and eventually obtained her CPC Certification from the University of North Carolina – Charlotte, for which she was diligent in continuing her enhanced studies to have a long and successful career with a large medical group here in Charlotte, NC.
Sue had a deep love for family and friends, and for making the world a better place. She was a giver and focused on doing for others rather than herself. In her short 51 years with us, Sue touched and enhanced many, many people. To honor Sue’s spirit of selflessness, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor with ASPCA, or the family suggests everyone perform random acts of caring and kindness for others.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Wilson Funeral & Cremation Service, 5301 Albermarle Road, Charlotte, NC 28212. A visitation with the family will begin at 3:00pm, followed by the service at 3:30pm. A reception will follow.
Finally, Sue was well known to her family and friends for sending the same thoughtful and loving message concluding cards and acknowledgments for special occasions. So, in Sue’s own words and thoughts, we end this remembrance with this special blessing for all . . . “Wishing you a very special and happy life that’s filled with so much happiness, warm memories and so much love!!...Smile!!"
