We will always cherish the memory of Sue, a woman of remarkable resilience. She lived a meaningful life filled with love and care for her family. As an extraordinary mother, she dedicated herself to raising her family alongside her husband, Raul “Paul” Sagues. Even after his passing in 1984, she continued to provide unwavering support for her loved ones. In the face of challenges, Sue always found a way to bring light and positivity each day. Her strength inspired all, and her warm-hearted presence made everyone feel at home, with many calling her “Mama Sue or Grammy Sue.”
Sue's life was a symphony of roles - a devoted wife, a nurturing mother, a loving grandmother and great-grandmother, a dedicated nurse and caregiver, a successful business owner, the life of the party, a social chairman, and a true friend to many. Her infectious joy and warmth filled every room she entered. As Sue joins her loved ones who have passed before her, dancing in the glory of Jesus, we take comfort in knowing that she has found peace and eternal healing. We eagerly anticipate the day when we will be reunited with her.
With all our love, Your family.
Sue's life was a remarkable journey from the cold winters of Cleveland, OH, to the sunshine of Central Florida. After settling in Winter Park, she and her family embraced the laid-back lifestyle. They enjoyed frequent family vacations to the Florida Keys and created a beloved community spot with their business, Lil' Big Horn. Even after its sale, Sue continued to serve her community as a social worker at Catholic Charities, spreading love and joy wherever she went. Her later years were filled with precious moments with her family, from Winter Springs to St. Petersburg, and finally in Charlotte, NC, where she cherished every moment with her great-grandchildren. Sue's life serves as an inspiration, reminding us to embrace change, create lasting memories, and spread love wherever we go.
Sue was predeceased by her parents, (Collette and Frank Douglas, along with stepmother, Vera Douglas), husband, (Raul “Paul” Sagues), and brothers-in-law, (Carlos Sagues and Gene Kenney). Survivors include son, Bill and wife, Holly Sagues, daughter, Linda and husband, Randy Wilcox, and son, Doug Sagues, sister-in-law, Dolores Kenney, along with seven grandchildren, (Suzie and husband Bryan, Joe and wife Natalie, Theiss, Brody, Camden, Chris and wife Sarah, and T.J. and wife Colleen), six great-grandchildren, (Beau, Hannah, Owen, Lea, Melody, and Colton), and one beloved puppy dog, (Rosie).
