With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Mama Shamsi, a kind, beautiful and graceful soul who brought warmth and joy to everyone fortunate enough to know her. She departed this world in the early morning of September 17, 2023, surrounded by her loving children, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion and a ripple of kindness.

Born on December 12, 1931 in Tehran, Mama Shamsi was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many with her unwavering kindness and gentle spirit. She was a devoted wife to Dr. Mahmoud Bahmanyar and a loving mother to Mina, Sina and Ali. A cherished grandmother to Payam, Ali Reza, Leyla, Navid, Sara and Alex. Her family was the center of her universe and she showered them with boundless love not by words but by care and action, devotion, sacrifice and support.

Mama Shamsi an avid teacher of life, shared her enthusiasm with all who crossed her path. She assisted in building the first technical school for hearing-impaired children in Tehran associated with Baghcheban.

Mama Shamsi dedicated herself to helping others, volunteering at any charity organization in need for many years. Her selflessness and empathy made her a pillar of strength for those in need, and her acts of kindness will be remembered.

Mama Shamsi left this life known to us for a better place where all angels have been waiting for her, and her passing leaves a giant void that cannot be filled among the ones who knew her.

As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the remarkable life she lived and the love she shared.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 beginning with a visitation at 1pm and service at McEwen Funeral Service located at 5716 Monroe Road in Charlotte. Burial will be at Sharon Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to thepowerofplay.ca in Mama Shamsi's honor.

Rest in eternal peace, dear Mama Shamsi. Your love and guidance will forever illuminate our loves.
