Sarah Emily Knox Wright

After graduating from Berryhill High School in 1944, Emily attended Lees McCray College. She worked many years for the RH Bouligny Co retiring in 1992.

She will be remembered for her love of gardening, making quilts for all her grandchildren, and traveling. Emily was a lifelong member of Steele Creek Presbyterian Church.

Mrs Wright was preceded in death by Frank, her loving husband of 43 years, and her brother, Samuel.

Emily is survived by her two loving children: Ed Wright (wife Pam) and Janice Katz (husband Howard). She was very proud of and deeply loved her four grandchildren, Barrett Wright (wife Jennifer) of Dunedin, FL; Abby Wright of Charlotte; Nathan Katz of Charlotte; and Laura Katz of Charlotte; great grandchildren Ferryn Wright and Brinkley Wright; sister, Alice Knox Owensby, and sister-in-law, Esther Wright.

Her funeral service will be held Monday, June 11th, at 2:00 pm, at Steele Creek Presbyterian Church followed by a reception in the church fellowship hall to celebrate Mrs. Wright’s life. Viewing will be held from 1:30-2pm in the church sanctuary. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Emily requested that donations be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, Charlotte Region or to Steele Creek Presbyterian Church.
