Sarah Bellune Sims

She was born on Sept. 11, 1921, in Washington County, Georgia, to James and Elizabeth Denard Bellune.

Mrs. Sims was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church in Charlotte where she was very involved in church activities.

Survivors include three children, Vicky S. Skinner (Donald J.), Charlotte; Elizabeth Dianne Smith, Atlanta, Georgia; and William “Billy” Sims, Charlotte; four grandchildren, Stephanie Elizabeth Skinner (Jason), Concord, NC; Heather Leigh Schiffman (Michael) Charlotte; Adrianne Elizabeth Smith (Edward McKita) and Julia Christine Kelley (Beau), all of Atlanta; and two great grandsons Adam Michael and Jake Lewis Schiffman, Charlotte; and cousins, Martha and Gerry Baldwin, Charleston, SC, and Jimmy and Mary Bellune, Bloomington, IN.

Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 18, 2012, from 11 a.m.-noon at the McEwen-Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, followed by her funeral service at noon. Reverend Jim Lytle will officiate. Interment will be in Sharon Memorial Park Cemetery in Charlotte.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 59 years, William J. Sims, and nine brothers and sisters.
