Ruth graduated from West Mecklenburg High School in 1955 and married Donald Plummer. Together they joined Idlewild Baptist Church. Ruth spent years as a Treasurer and assisted her husband as a Deacon. She retired from a long career at Celanese Corporation.
Ruth was predeceased by her husband, her parents and siblings; Colon Sparkman, S.L. Rogers, Joe Rogers, Jaxkie Tucker, Louise Tate and Earl Rogers.
She is survived by her daughter, Donette (Del) Kurtz, granddaughters; Reba Bass and Kelly (Josh) Ross.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, August 9th, 2022 at 10:00am at Sharon Memorial Park. Funeral Services will follow at 11:30am at Idlewild Baptist Church 12701 Idlewild Road Matthews, NC 28105.
The family asks that memorials be sent to Idlewild Baptist Church in lieu of flowers.
