“Rose”
Rose Boger, 80, of Waxhaw, NC died at a local Charlotte hospital on Friday, June 17, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, teacher and friend to all that knew and loved her.
She was born on December 15, 1930 in Greensboro, NC. She attended Appalachian State University, was a member of the ASU Cheerleading Squad, and received her Bachelors Degree in Library Science in 1953. From there, she worked as a Media Specialist in Eatonton, GA, Fairmont, NC and Charlotte, NC. The majority of her career was in the Mecklenburg School System at Smith Junior High and Carmel Junior High. Rose was a longtime member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church in Charlotte. One of the great joys in her life was ASU football and being a member of the Appalachian State Yosef Club.
Survivors include her husband Fred Boger of Waxhaw, NC; 2 daughters, Gail Carnahan and her husband John of Fairbanks, Alaska; Alane Tershel of Waxhaw, NC; 3 grandchildren, Ola Carnahan and Riley and Meredith Tershel.
A Graveside Service will be at 11:00 am at Sharon Memorial Park Cemetery, 5400 Monroe Rd., Charlotte, NC 28212 on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 with Rev. Jack Knoespel officiating under the direction of McEwen Pineville Chapel. Memorials may be made to Best Friends Animal Society and Appalachian State Former Athletes Association.
