Ronald S. Smith, 72, of Mint Hill, North Carolina passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023. He was born on August 1, 1950 to William and Louise Smith.
Ron graduated from Asheville High School in North Carolina. He went on to have a 38 year career with Norfolk Southern Railroad as a police officer. He was an avid baseball player and square dancer in high school. Ron's hobbies included bowling, golf, softball, and gardening. However one of Ron's fondest joys was spending time with his grandchildren and he was very active following their interests. His great sense of humor and wealth of knowledge will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife of 43 years, Karla Smith.
He is survived by his sons, Matthew Smith (Melissa) and Chad Smith (Semra); his grandchildren, Korey Smith, Cooper Smith, Cailey Smith, Jack Smith, and Gwendolyn Smith; his sisters, Sandy Smith and Debbie Smith.
