Born in Charlotte, NC on December 21, 1940, he was a son of the late Homer Henderson Elliott and Sadie Drake Elliott.
At the age of 16, Ronnie joined the US Navy serving four years in the South Pacific. Affectionately known as “Killer”, he retired from the sales department at A.G. Boone. During his retirement years, Ronnie could be found “working” with Dink Widenhouse at Mecklenburg Equipment Co.
"A small engine whiz", he was President of the Elliott Family Reunion and keeper of the lemonade recipe, an avid fan of NASCAR and the Carolina Tar Heels and could grow the best tomatoes this side of the Mississippi. He also raced go-karts on a national level with the World Karting Association.
Survivors include his wife, Aurie Helton Elliott; a son, Scott Elliott and wife, Cathie; twin daughters, Rhonda Elliott and Renee’ Elliott Haltom and husband, Tony; a sister, Julia Faulkner; and four grandchildren, Hunter Elliott, Ashlyn Elliott, Annie Auber and Roman Edwards.
In addition to his parents, a sister, Joann McCallum preceded him in death.
Friends may visit from 1 to 2 pm Thursday, October 19, 2017 at McEwen Derita Chapel, 6300 Mallard Creek Rd., Charlotte, NC 28262. Graveside services with Navy Honors are planned for 2:45 pm at Sharon Memorial Park, 5400 Monroe Rd., Charlotte, NC 28212.
