Born in Rutherford County, NC, Bert attended Ellenboro High School, ultimately graduating Presbyterian Nursing School with an R.N. degree. Nursing suited Bert’s temperament and professional skills, as she was an attentive care giver to her patients over a 41 year career and lifelong to her family. She was the wife of William L. Mayberry for 63 years before his passing in 2008. Roberta was smart, beautiful, fun-loving, selfless and stubborn. Roberta’s loving support will be missed by all.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Mayberry of Surfside Beach, SC., son and daughter-in-law Michael and Sharon Mayberry of Charlotte, NC., grandson Jackson Mayberry, John Mayberry and wife Megan W. Mayberry, Joseph Mayberry and wife Lindsay S. Mayberry and great-grandson Charles W. Mayberry.
A graveside service will be held at Sharon Memorial Park and Cemetery on Friday, August 7th at 10 a.m., located at the corner of Monroe Rd. and Sharon Amity Rd., Charlotte, NC.
