Born in Pensacola, Florida, son of Rueben C Ward and Lou Murphy Ward. Robert grew up in Jacksonville, Florida, graduating from Robert E. Lee High School 1952 and Samford University.
Prudential Insurance Company employed him for 42 years serving in Jacksonville, Birmingham, Atlanta, and Charlotte, NC. Professional designations included Fellow of the Life Management Institute and Charlotte Life Underwriter.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine Tate Ward; daughters, Susan Huckeba of Dacula, GA, Catherine Giles of Loganville, GA, and Rachel Angell of Huntersville, NC; eight beloved grandsons; and one great-grandson.
A service to celebrate Robert’s life will be held at Riverside Memorial Park in Jacksonville, Florida.
