Red was born in Atlanta, Ga. on November 10, 1927 and grew up in Deland, Fl. He graduated from Emory University and the University of Virginia Law School. He practiced law in Charlotte, NC for 67 years. He was involved with numerous civic, political, and volunteer organizations. He was a member of Dilworth United Methodist Church, Carmel Country Club and a lifelong member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.
Red is survived by Annette H. McDaris, his beloved companion of 25 years and was blessed with five children: daughter, Pam Firman and husband Kenn of Charlotte, NC; daughter, Karen Lindsay and husband Will of Raleigh, NC; daughter, Kim Robinson and husband David of Saint Helena Island, SC; daughter Tricia Moore and husband David of Charlotte, NC; son Robert Robinson Jr. and companion Kathy of Ridgeway, SC.
He is also survived by his seven grandchildren Kendall, Michael, Lauren, Sarah, William, Joshua and Alex and six great grandchildren Poppy, Bowden, Quinn, Parker, Davis and Alfie.
He was preceded in death by his wife Peggy Jane Deaton Robinson, mother Oveda G. Rasmussen, father Albert E. Robinson and sister Evelyn Twichell.
There will be a private graveside service for immediate family. Pallbearers will be Red’s grandchildren.
