Rob, 54, of Matthews, NC passed away peacefully on April 13, 2024, surrounded by family and friends. Rob was born Robert Francis Carr on February 1, 1970, in Poughkeepsie, New York. Rob is the son of the late Bonnie-Lynn Carr Jackson.
Rob moved from Poughkeepsie, NY to Columbia, SC when he was nine years old. Rob spent most of his youth in Columbia SC with his Mom, Nana, and sister, Jennifer. Rob graduated from Lexington High School and then joined the US Air Force. Rob proudly served his country for four years. After the Air Force, Rob had a variety of jobs. One of his favorites was bartending at Champps Americana where he met some of his closest and lifelong friends.
On September 2, 2003, Rob and Jacqueline became parents to their daughter Rease. On June 26, 2007, they welcomed son Joshua. Rob loved being a Dad. Rob often said being his children’s father was the best achievement of his life.
Late in 2021, Rob met Paula, his fiancée. Rob and Paula live in Matthews, NC with Paula’s daughter, Zoe Hallman. Rob and Paula enjoyed traveling some and trying new places to dine. Rob especially enjoyed the times that Rease and Josh would come and stay at their home.
Rob was a very loving and caring man! He could light up a room. He always liked making people laugh and would often crack jokes. He enjoyed preparing meals for the holidays for his family.
Rob was preceded in death by his mother Bonnie-Lynn Carr Jackson and his Nana, Dorothy M. Carr.
He is survived by his fiancée Paula Cromer and stepdaughter Zoe; children Rease Jackson, Joshua Jackson and their mother Jacqueline Jackson; sister Jennifer Boltin (James); niece Lauren Boltin (Rachel); nephews James Boltin (Brandi) and Stephen; uncle Robert Carr (Sharon); aunts Peggy Morton (Dwayne) and Debbie Harbison (Jim); cousins, Eric Carr (Jennifer), Ashley Carr, Michael D. Morton (Christina), Jason E. Morton (Katherine), Shawn P. Morton (Lucimeire), Owen Harbinson (Christina).
