He was born in Appleton, WI and grew up in Beloit, WI. During his life he served four years in the US Navy from 1957 to 1961 aboard the USS New as a Shop Keeper. He married the love of his life, Karen, and he and his family relocated to Charlotte years later. He held the title of Vice President of Manufacturing for Valmet Corporation for many years. He received his MBA from Winthrop University. He enjoyed golfing with friends and collecting antiques. He was loved by many people, and he was known as a sharp, yet quiet man. He never saw the bad in anyone. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Karen; mother, Dessie Robinson; father, Roy Hill; and sister, Phyllis Easton.
He leaves behind his two sons, Michael and David Hill; two granddaughters, Ariana and Jaylee; and his close friend of over 25 years, Connie Johnston.
The funeral service will be held at 12:00pm on March 11, 2023 at Forest Lawn West Funeral Home, 4601 Freedom Drive in Charlotte. The burial will follow at Forest Lawn West Cemetery where military honors will be rendered.
