He was born on April 13, 1943 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late William Dominick and Angela (Dymkowski) Dominick.
Growing up in the Pittsburgh area, Robert attended Har-Brack High School and spent his teenage years working as a mechanic. He graduated with the class of 1961 and went on to attend the University of Pittsburgh where he studied engineering.
Robert married Marian “Beth” Truffa, in 1967 in Pittsburgh, PA, where they raised their 4 children and enjoyed nights out watching his sister, Cheryl, play in her band.
After college, Robert took an engineering job and faithfully worked for the same company for his entire career. He retired as Chief Hydraulics Engineer after 40 dedicated years of work.
Following his retirement, Robert joined his daughters down south and settled in Indian Land, SC in 2012.
Robert was an avid sportsman who found great joy in his many outdoor activities, namely trout fishing and saltwater fishing, hunting, golfing, riding his bike, and gardening. When he was not outside pursuing those interests, he could be found in front of his TV cheering on the Steelers, or enjoying free samples and making friends at Publix.
Because of his friendliness, charisma, and effortless ability to make people laugh with his goofy sense of humor, everybody who met Robert loved him.
Robert was everything good in the world to his family, and he will be profoundly missed.
Those left to remember Robert include his wife of 54 years; his four children, Kelly Dominick, Brenda Drummond and her husband, Mark, Brian Dominick and his life partner, Belinda, and Nicole Goins and her husband, Tim; his grandchildren, Breanne Daniels, Chad Daniels, Blake Drummond, Paige Drummond, Joshua Drummond, Justis Dominick, Koltin Dominick, Baylee Dominick, Ava Goins, and Jude Goins; and his sisters, Darlene Haugh and her husband, James and Cheryl Linamen and her husband, Larry.
Robert is now reunited in Heaven with his parents, William and Angela Dominick.
To honor Robert’s wishes, there will be no public services held. Memorial contributions may be made in Robert's name to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
