Richard Lee Turner

A native of Statesville, Mr. Turner was born to the late Coy Lee Turner and Pearlie Mae Elmore Turner on March 6, 1945. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and retired from Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools after 30 years of service. Mr. Turner was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Charlotte.

Mr. Turner is survived by his wife Mary Turner of Albemarle; children, Melinda Scott of Franklin, IN, Franklin Turner of Albemarle; sisters, Margaret Stars of Charlotte, Betty Daugherty of Virginia; brothers, Clyde Turner of North Carolina, Lester Turner of South Carolina, Johnny Turner of North Carolina; grandchildren, Richie, Sarah, Megan and Jalene Scott.

A graveside service will be held 2:00p.m., Wednesday, December 26 in Sunset Memory Gardens with Pastor Leroy Grant officiating. The family will receive friends 12:00p.m. to 1:30p.m., Wednesday at Wilson Funeral and Cremation Service, 5301 Albemarle Rd., Charlotte.
