He was born in Somerville, New Jersey on September 30, 1967. Rick received a BA in Education from University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 1991. During his time at UNCC, he met his wife Tonya and they married June 3, 1995. He was the owner of Korben Homes and built many custom homes in the Mint Hill and surrounding areas. His most recent employer was Southern Staircase, providing quality staircases for custom homes. He was a member of Carmel Baptist Church, Charlotte Aeromodelers, Matthews Softball Association, Charlotte Adult Baseball League, Kappa Sigma Fraternity, Independence Booster Club, Member of Windrow Swim Club, and F3. He had a passion for music, teaching, parenting, coaching many of his daughter’s teams, flying RC planes, running, and building custom homes. His greatest passion of all was his family. He loved his wife and daughters very much. All he did was for them.
Rick was predeased by his mother Elizabeth Ciosek Pinto and is survived by his wife, Tonya Quick Pinto; three daughters, Sophia Pinto, Gabrielle Pinto, and Alina Pinto; His Father Vito Pinto of Bound Brook, New Jersey; and sister Lori Juzwiak (Tom) of Cranbury, New Jersey. He is also survived by many cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30pm on Friday, January 19, 2018 at Carmel Baptist Church, 1145 Pineville-Matthews Road, Matthews, NC 28105.
A committal service will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens in Mint Hill, NC.
