Rhonda was born in Gastonia, NC on February 26, 1966, to the late Jack Rice Cook and the late Linda Lou Carpenter Cook. Rhonda received an Associates' Degree in Criminal Justice from Gaston College. Rhonda worked for many years as a project manager in real estate development. She is survived by three half-brothers including Gary (Delores) Cook of Lincolnton, NC, and several nieces and nephews.
Rhonda lived by the tenant strangers were friends she hadn't met yet, and believed that our friends become our chosen family. She was known for her infectious smile and her parting words, "love ya mean it".
Rhonda was a devoted member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church and her faith was her refuge and sustenance throughout her hard-fought battle with cancer.
We will miss Rhonda but we know she is now reunited with her beloved pups Simba, Emmy, and Beethoven.
A service to celebrate Rhonda's life will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at 11:00am at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 13110 Moss Road, Charlotte, NC 28273.
