Rachel T. Baucom

Rachel Thomas Baucom, age 90 of Charlotte went home to be with the Lord surrounded by her family February 14, 2011. A visitation will begin at 10:00 AM Thursday at Lighthouse Church, 5735 Dixie River Road with a service to celebrate her life to follow at 11:00AM, February 17, 2011, Pastor Tim Helms officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. Mrs. Baucom was born in Anson County, NC March 6, 1920 daughter of the late B. Ashley and Grace Allen Thomas. She was a member of Lighthouse Church where she had taught Sunday School many years and served on the Church Hostess Committee. Mrs. Baucom was a self-employed Seamstress for 72 years. Surviving are a son, Henry W. Baucom, Jr. (Glenda) Gastonia, NC, grandchildren, Darren Baucom of Gastonia, Abby Baucom Davis of Greenville, SC, and Holly Baucom Buswell of Holly Springs, NC, great grandchildren, Lauren, Bryant, Emma, Brandon, Hannah, and Wyatt, sisters, Almeda Nall, Maxine Myers, Peggy Carey, Sue Tucker (Jack), brothers, Jack Thomas (Frances) and Bayne Thomas (Bennie). She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry W. Baucom, Sr. and six brothers and sisters.
