Quan, 61, was called to God and passed away on March 21st, 2024 in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was in the company of his loving family.
Born on July 27, 1962 in Vinh Kim, Tra Vinh, Vietnam, he was the son of Buu Tran and Chinh Thi Truong. He completed school and became a teacher. He got married in 1987 to his wife, Suong Thi Ngoc Phan. In 1997, Quan and his family immigrated to the United States of America. He continued to work as an Operator for decades to come.
The key to happiness in Quan’s life was God and his family. He continuously worked hard for years to be able to provide and care for everyone. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and follower of Jesus Christ in the Catholic Church. He loved to hang out with his whole family; singing karaoke, having a beer, and laughing the whole night away. He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Suong Thi Ngoc Phan; three children, Nhan Bao Phan Tran, Hoang Hai Thi Tran, and Sonya Phuong My Tran; and three beloved grandchildren, Jaylaa Renee Phillips, Joshua Markis Phillips Jr, and Jaxson Nehemiah Phillips.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Chinh Thi Truong; father, Buu Tran; younger brother, Tuan Tran; and eldest sister, Thuy Tran.
A viewing to celebrate Quan’s life will be held on Saturday, March 23rd and Sunday, March 24th at McEwen Funeral Service at 10500 Park Road. A Mass of Christian Burial for Quan will be held at St. Joseph Vietnamese Catholic Church at 4929 Sandy Porter Rd., Charlotte, NC 28273.
