Phyllis Maxine Zafft Sanders, age 84, died Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at her daughter’s residence. A native of Lebanon, SD, she was born July 4, 1929 to the late Albert H. Zafft and Georgia Hart Zafft. Mrs. Sanders was a homemaker and a member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing and hand crafts.
A funeral to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday, October 5th at St. Thomas Lutheran Church with Rev. Michael Warfel and Rev. Steven Lorimer officiating. Burial will follow in Charlotte Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at The Derita Chapel of McEwen Funeral Service from 7:00PM to 9:00PM, Friday.
Mrs. Sanders is survived by three daughters, Darla Daugherty (Mike), of Charlotte, Linda Noles (Charlie), of Stanley, Tamara Williams (Jeff), of Charlotte; three brothers, Herbert Zafft, of Minneapolis, MN, Norman Zafft (Charlotte), of Estelline, SD, Dennis Zafft (Tre’), of Houston, TX; two sisters, Betty Martinez and Judy Diaz, both of California; six grandchildren, Vanessa Turner (Brian), Kelly Stilwell (Johnny), Casey Noles (Beth), Sandy Luckey (Dustin), Mitchell Williams (Elizabeth), Jered Williams (Arianne); four great-grandchildren, Adam Luckey, Ethan Noles, Allie Luckey and Silas Noles.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sanders was preceded in death by her husband of sixty four years, Oten “Sandy” Sanders, who died September 27, 2012.

The Sanders family would like to thank Dr. Marshall P. McMillan and the caregivers from Hospice, Sarah, Ericka, Susan, CJ, Linda, Tiffany and Elizabeth for the loving care shown to Mrs. Sanders and her family.
